I'm Daniel, the founder of Connecting Birmingham 👋
I was born here, I live here, I’ve hired here, and I’ve job hunted here, so I know how frustrating it can be from both sides.
Connecting Birmingham exists to solve two problems I kept running into:
As a job seeker: it was hard to find the truth about companies. Job posts lacked depth and clarity. And when I did land on a careers site, it often felt more like a surface level, fluffy PR page than anything genuinely useful.
As someone hiring/recruiting: it was tough to attract the right people - the ones who genuinely cared about the role, the team, and the mission. But that’s an unfair expectation if the company was unable to share meaningful info first. It takes two to tango!
Connecting Birmingham is here to fix both of these problems.
